Ginza Kimonos

The other day while walking around Ginza, I noticed the most elegant kimono shop around the corner from my hotel. It must have been my lucky day because the store was full of stunning women who were attending an event with a local designer. The store, Ginza Motoji, specializes in traditional kimonos with a focus on high fashion and design. I loved watching how the store's staff interacted with their clientele. This woman had just purchased a beautiful pink coat. Upon her exit from the store, a young man ran after her to fix a small thread that was hanging from the sleeve. It's been fascinating to see how Japanese women choose and accessorize their kimonos for everyday wear. I can't wait to see what I find when I hit the streets tomorrow!

La Jolla Leopard

I'm in Japan until next week for an exhibition of my work at Seibu Shibuya, but here is a shot from sunny California. I hope everyone is enjoying the pictures from Tokyo. I'll be posting a lot more stunning ladies and gentleman from my travels soon.

I stopped this woman near my hotel in Tokyo and she was kind enough to show me the various layers and details of her gorgeous kimono.

I have been in Japan for about a week and have already found so many wonderful people to photograph. There is so much beauty and elegance everywhere I look.

In The Details

This woman adds a dash of chicness to her outfit with a simple black belt and some expert color coordination.. I love how chose black nail polish to match with her stunning glasses and silver rings to  pair with her sterling earrings.

Shizuka Komuro

Heading To Japan

I've been in San Diego for a few days and of course I had to meet up with the always stunning Dolores Forsythe. Dolores has been traveling the globe in search of fantastic pieces of jewelry for her store in Coronado, California.
