This woman was in the middle of running errands around town when I stopped and asked if I could take her photograph. I love her cool and casual approach to style. She looks perfectly comfortable for a day in the city.

I met Pushpa about a year at a signing for my book and we hit it off right away. She just radiates joy and has the most incredible spirit.

I first noticed this woman's gorgeous polka dot suit. When I ran to catch up with her and asked  if I could take her photograph, she proudly held out her adorable puppy.

Theresa, Madrid, NM

A few weeks ago I traveled to New Mexico for a couple of days to meet my friends Orren and Rob. On my way through Madrid, New Mexico I met Theresa, a local who has been living in the town for over 40 years. Theresa told us about our gorgeous surroundings and some history about the historic mining towns nearby. If you get a chance to visit New Mexico, I highly recommend a drive along the Turquoise Trail and a stop for lunch in Madrid.

I used to love looking through my grandmother's old photographs and was fascinated by the styles and hair do's popular during her youth. When I spotted this gorgeous woman, she instantly brought me back to these photos. She reminded me of The Gibson Girl with her marvelous up-swpet hairdo and gorgeous features.

Every time I see Mary she looks nothing short of perfect and she always has the best shoes!!!

Tie- Dye Styled

I have always loved tie-dye t-shirts, but have never seen  one worn as elegantly as the one above. When I complimented this gorgeous woman on her wonderful shirt and accessories she replied, " My grandson made it for me and I pull it out once a year and today is the day. I don't usually let people take my photograph, but since I'm wearing the shirt, go ahead." What a lucky day for me!

It's been an exiting week in New York for the Advanced Style ladies. Ilona just got back from her summer in Provincetown to sit front row at the Karen Walker fashion show. I had the privilege of shooting last season's Karen Walker Eyewear campaign , featuring  the gorgeous women above, so it was great fun to have a reunion at Karen's incredible runway show.

Beauty Unrecognized

When I asked this woman if I could take her photograph, she replied, "Why would you want a photograph of an old lady like me?" This is a response I hear quite often. I'm always surprised when some of the women I photograph don't realize how inspiring and vibrant they truly are. After the shoot, she smiled and I thanked her for making my day.
